Submission Rules and Guidelines
Register and submit one song via e-mail to submit@calawyersforthearts.org by Wednesday, February 1.  Please include your name, music genre, mailing address and purpose of submission (e.g. to get more exposure, to get better gigs, to get industry feedback, to shop your album, etc.).

Please note that songs will be evaluated in the order in which they are received.
Due to time constraints, not all submissions will be critiqued.  Only the first verse and chorus (if less than 60 seconds) will be evaluated.  The artist/songwriter/band must be present to have a song critiqued.

Keynote Address by Erik Metzger

        Erik Metzger is an intellectual property attorney with Intel Corporation, where he's 
        responsible for helping to procure, license, and litigate intellectual property rights 
        related to Intel products.  Erik also leads the Intel Arts and Entertainment Law Pro Bono 
        Program, which provides legal assistance and counsel to independent musicians, 
        filmmakers, game developers, and other artists.  Erik is also a part-time musician both 
        in Austin and San Francisco and has licensed his music into TV and film productions.

Master of Ceremonies

Michael A. Aczon has practiced law with an emphasis on entertainment transactions for nearly three decades representing a variety of artists and entertainment/media – based companies. He serves as Legal Architect/Director of Artist and Venue Relations for live concert streaming company, VenMundi. Michael manages a select group of clients including 2010 Grammy Nominee Trombonist Wayne Wallace and SF Giants/KISS-FM Announcer Renel. As an educator, Michael teaches Entertainment Law at JFK University and is a member of the Music and Recording Industry faculties at San Francisco State University and Diablo Valley College. Author of “The Musician’s Legal Companion” published by Cengage Technology, Michael was also a columnist for Guitar Player and Electronic Musician Magazines. He has served on the National Entertainment Law Initiative Committee for the Recording Academy. Michael lectures at colleges, law schools, and music industry seminars nationwide.
