COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

The Arts & Community Development Project offers summer and year-round job training experiences in the arts for young people in San Francisco and free cultural enrichment activities for youth and families.

Spotlight on the Arts

The "Spotlight on the Arts" program places low-income young people interested in the arts in paid summer internships at non-profit arts organizations. Since 1993, over 500 young people have received first-time job experiences through Spotlight, at more than 80 arts agencies.

Spotlight is funded by public and private agencies including the San Francisco Department of Children Youth and Their Families, The Tom Merit Hancock Family Fund, The Kimball Foundation, GGS Foundation, LEF Foundation, van Löben Sels/Rembe Rock Foundation, Eva Leah Gunther Foundation,
Rainbow Grocery Cooperative, Bernard E. and Alba Witkin Charitable Foundation, Diane B. Wilsey, PG &E, Lennar Corporation, and Wells Fargo Bank.

Spotlight has received in-kind donations from the Marsh Youth Theatre, AWAT productions, Golden Thread Productions, Rainbow Grocery Cooperative, the Cartoon Art Museum, the Museum of African Diaspora, ArtHouse, African American Arts & Culture Complex, San Francisco City Hall Docents, the Magic Theatre, Shipyard Trust for the Arts and Trader Joe's.

Thank You to all of our generous supporters!
