Volume 2009 - Music Business Seminar An all-day educational event for the Bay Area music community

California Lawyers for the Arts presents its annual music business seminar, Volume 2009! The event will take place at Ex'pression Digital College for Digital Arts http://www.expression.edu in Emeryville on Saturday, October 24 from 9:30am to 5:30pm.

Don't miss out on this full day of affordable, cutting-edge panels devoted to the legal and business aspects of the music industry.  For musicians, attorneys, songwriters, producers, djs and other music industry related professionals.

Panel topics include:
- Outside The Box: Creative Options in Music Licensing;
- The Manager Panel: The Ins and Outs of Artist Representation;
- The DIY Label: Promoting and Selling your Music in the Digital Age;
- The Gig Panel: Dos and Don’ts of Live Performances.

Also attend introductory primers on Copyright Basics with Professor Marc Greenberg and Creative Collaborations with attorney Alan Korn.  The event will conclude with a song critiquing session, Face the Music! With Gian Fiero - bring your music and get expert feedback!

Members of California Lawyers for the Arts and cosponsoring organizations pay $35.  General admission is $50.  Full-time students and seniors with ID pay $25.  Attorneys receiving MCLE credit pay $70, member attorneys pay $55.. Walk-ins welcome; admission is $10 more at the door.

Volume 2009 workbook is included with the registration fee.  Registration not available for individual panels.  Speakers and panel topics subject to change.  5 hours of MCLE credits offered.

Please note that the best parking is on Shellmound.  *Please do NOT park directly across from the yellow building - it is the IRS building and they tow 24/7.

For the song critiquing session, you may submit one song per participant (or participant's representative) on a CD during registration.  Please note that songs will be evaluated in the order and genre in which they are received. Due to time limitations and other factors, not all submissions may be played.
