Visit the Members Only section of the website to access CLA's education portal. The education portal features recorded webinars, podcasts, articles, videos, MCLE programs for attorneys, and other documents on legal topics for the creative arts and innovation community. California Lawyers for the Arts is licensed by the State Bar of California as a Multiple Activity MCLE Provider (#1248). ​​Non-attorneys should register as "non-MCLE" when setting-up their account to view these materials. Arts in Corrections: Reframing the Landscape of Justice

June 24 - 28, 2019

Participants in this conference will have opportunities to

  • Share best practices in program development and curriculum design

  • Learn about current research models, including evaluation and documentation  

  • Gain insights into new legislative developments in justice reform in different states and nationally

  • Participate in workshops showcasing exemplary programs in institutions of all levels as well as restorative justice and re-entry models

  • Learn how to build public awareness and enhance programmatic sustainability

  • Develop next steps for a national support organization for artists who teach in correctional institutions and artists coming home

  • Participate in art classes taught by master artists with years of teaching experience in various disciplines and diverse institutions.

Speakers will include artists, educators, justice advocates, arts administrators, lawyers and other allied professionals.  Campus housing will be available for all participants.
