How to Form a California Corporation for Your Creative Business
with Corey Carter, Esq.

Program Description:

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between a corporation and an LLC?  How does it affect your business and why does it matter?  Join CLA and attorney Corey Carter to learn some of the fundamental concepts surrounding the formation of a new business entity.  Topics to be covered include an overview of the different types of entities available in California, what the differences among them are, where nonprofits fit in among these, and what are some of the issues to consider when forming a new entity for a creative business.

Presenter:

Corey Carter, Esq. is an attorney whose practice focuses on business formation, business transactions and contracts. Mr. Carter is admitted to practice in all courts of the State of California, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Tax Court. He is a member of the Central District of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys Association (CDCBAA), California Lawyers for the Arts, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

These workshops are made possible, in part, from the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Los Angeles County Arts Commission; The City of Los Angeles, Department of Cultural Affairs; and the California Community Foundation.  Additional support provided by the California Arts Council
