California Lawyers for the Arts presents:

Impactful Grant Writing for Artists and Small Arts Organizations

Many talented artists and important arts organizations stumble when trying to convey their impact through grant applications. Join Kim Tucker and Dr. Dene Starks as they help us navigate important topics such as:

1) Basic Terminology: Need, Outcomes, Impact, Audience (who benefits) Purpose/Focus, Background

2) The Basics of Every Grant Proposal:

  • What is the need for what you do?
  • What is the need in the community?
  • How is your art form unique/special?
  • What audience do you provide your art form to (who benefits).
  • What do you want to do with the grant funds – specifics  - budget
  • What does a successful result look like?  Numbers served?

3) Building a file with a strong narrative and quantitative date to have ready when grant opportunities come up.

4) Utilizing outside review and proofing.
