  • CLA is sensitive to the current situation faced by the non-profit and arts sector within COVID-19. We are currently offering our workshops at a sliding scale or "pay what you can" price. While CLA is a nonprofit we are also in need of your continued support but want to ensure accessibility of our content and workshops to all no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Please contact renee.reizman@calawyersforthearts.org for waiver code.

Imagine products with your images selling in retail stores, and earning royalties on a single image over and over again. Learn about the opportunities of licensing art to manufacturers and earning residual income. Selling your artwork and images for flat fees or working hourly are not the only way to make money as a creative person.

Debra Valencia leads this workshop, which provides an overview of how the licensing business model works. It is relevant to all types of visual works: fine art, photography, illustration, cartooning, lettering & typography, surface design, graphic design and mixed media/collage.

Topics include:

  • art themes and styles in demand

  • product categories

  • portfolio requirements

  • how to find and submit to licensees

  • copyrights and contracts

  • working with agents

  • case studies of successful licensed artists

About Online Workshops:

Registrants will be emailed a link to register for the Zoom seminar online after booking through the CLA website. Please make sure to register both via this page and on the Zoom registration page.
