About This Workshop
This workshop provides a basic overview of copyright law and answer some of the fundamental questions associated with copyright: What is copyright? What rights do copyright owners possess? What is copyright infringement?
The workshop covers terms of ownership, the process and benefits of registration, limitations and exceptions to copyrights, how to avoid infringing on the copyrights of others, and the latest updates to copyright claims processes under the CASE Act.
International copyright aspects will also be explored briefly, specifically copyright protection outside the US, international copyright conventions, and EU copyrights.

About the Speaker:
Boyana Bounkova, Attorney, Sutter Law, P.C.
A native of Bulgaria, Boyana Bounkova has more than 15 years of international practice experience and expertise. The focus of Boyana Bounkova’s practice includes Intellectual Property and Commercial law, with an emphasis on copyrights and trademarks, technology portfolios, data protection, cyber-law and entertainment law both in the U.S. and the European Union.
Boyana Bounkova holds an LLM degree from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, Bulgaria, a Postgraduate Diploma on Copyright and Patents Law from Queen Mary, University of London, UK and an LLM degree in Intellectual Property and Technology Law from the University of San Francisco, School of Law.
Boyana Bounkova is fluent in English, Bulgarian, and some Russian and French. In addition to her role at Sutter Law P.C., she continues to serve as the managing director of a successful international music publishing company and in the past seven years she has been the manager and producer of the Grammy award winning artist The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices.
